Relaxing Weekend

39/365: Friday was a day full of reminders of my love. Those days are the best. It started with a morning coffee in this mug. I received it from Adam right before he proposed to me. Random, but beautiful. I love it so much.

Then, this song came on Pandora while I was working. This is the song Adam used to tell me how he felt about me ( over 5 years ago!).

40/365: Saturday, we took a small trip back to our hometown to see family. I'm pretty sure I could have made it on to People of Walmart during our morning outing.
And, for some reason I ended up at Walmart multiple times that day. Which is horrible because I had ceased going to Walmart a few months ago. Hmmm. Well, at least we didn't actually make any purchases. Just played with some toys. And, again.

Then, later that night I had my first experience playing Risk. Have you ever played? I'm finding out I have a secret love of strategy games. I'm not very good at them yet (I'm team Yellow), but I really, really enjoy them.
41/365: Sunday was a great day of catching up with family and friends. I was finally able to give (and receive) a Christmas present to my nephew. He seriously lights up my life. What a sweetheart.
Then, we headed back home to Louisville. :)

42/365: Today has been calm. I worked a short shift and read some tough material for class. I'm still working on managing my time better. I'm sure it has nothing to do with this cutie.

What are your best tips for managing time? I've been trying to put the computer away as much as possible when studying. But, it's kind of difficult with online education. ;) I welcome any advice!

Catchin' Up

Playing a little catch up (this is what happens to those who procrastinate with grad school homework). Eeeek!

16/365: This is actually a video (yay?). It is also proof of my major procrastination problem.
This is my beloved basset hound, Charlie. Is he angry? Is he sleeping? I don't know. But, I love him dearly.

17/365: Love lunch breaks with my hubs. They make my life so much better!
18/365: Some pieces of my day yesterday. Nanny life is fun.

Also, Adam and I finally took some time last weekend to clean up our office. I had been wanting to put my new (old) sewing machine up there (finally!!!). It was nice to share the space with family and just enjoy it for a bit.
Also, I miss art. This is some of my work from high school. I thought if I displayed it on my walls I might be inspired to pick up my paintbrush once in a while.

Yesterday, when Adam and I got home from work, we discovered that Charlie had destroyed some books. I thought his choice of this particular book was ironic.
19/365: Ahh, and today. I am so ready for some hockey. The NHL has been on a lock out for almost 5 months. The puck will finally drop today. I am excited. But, not as excited as my husband. Also, we cheer for different teams, so hockey season can get kind of ugly. GO RED WINGS!

Growth

Yesterday was a big day for me. My life has been a little crazy as of late, and I finally reached some sense of normalcy again. It's always difficult when life throws you a curveball (or several of them). But, learning to move on is key.

I am not trying to say it was easy. Without going into further detail, I'll just say it was, by far, the hardest time of my life. I had to accept things for how they were and figure out how to keep going even when it seemed way too hard.

I am so fortunate to have the friends and family that I do. They are my rock and have been so supportive while I pick up the pieces. It means more to me than they will ever know.

And, on that note, here is my 10/365:
