New Things

53/365: Saturday morning was very relaxing. It consisted of laying around with an adorable basset hound and enjoying a caramel latte from Heine Brothers. All in between studying, of course.

Heine Brothers always has some fun artwork hanging in a little gallery area. I love this print. It just so happens that my V-Day card from Adam (somebody blogged!!) is of the same print.54/365: On Sunday we took our pup on a drive. He gets giddy about going on car rides. It's adorable. Then, we tried a new church. Gluten Free communion? I think it could be a good fit. ;)
55/365: This amazing camera now sits on the mantel in our living room. It belonged to my great grandfather. I wish I knew more than that. It's beautiful and I'm honored to have it. I'm looking forward to learning more.

56/365: We tried a new coffee! There are so many different coffee choices around Louisville and I want to try them all. Our latest sampling came from a place called Sunergos Coffee. It did not disappoint. I'm excited to go back and try more.

Any coffee/espresso drink recommendations out there? I usually enjoy a soy caramel latte, but I'm open to trying new things. What's your favorite?

Busy Bee

Oh man. Remember my last blog post? The one about me having difficulty managing my time
Yeah, still an issue. I'm working at improving. At least I am able to turn my homework in on time. Unfortunately, that means I'm not blogging when I want to. And, I have a huge test to study for this weekend. So, I don't foresee myself managing other aspects of my life too well in the near future. Alas, there's gotta be an upside. Eventually I'll just get it, right? Anyway, here is what I've been up to in-between quizzes, projects, receiving bad grades, resubmitting assignments hopeful for an improved score, and being the best nanny I can be.

43/365: Sometimes, I just want a burger. It is a rare occurrence (poor Adam). However, we've had them twice since I've last blogged! Yum! Oh, also on a GF bun, of course. Sorry, I can't remember who makes them. But, I purchased them from Whole Foods. And they were delish!
44/365: Watching the snow on a much needed lunch break with Adam. I'm going to keep linking back to his blog in hopes that he will write some more. :)

45/365: A sweet Valentine's Day in Louisville with my hubs. It's our 6th V-Day together!
46/365: My usual studying distraction.
47/365: My V-Day flowers from Adam. <3

48/365: Cute basset salt and pepper shakers from Yesternook! What a thoughtful gift. Fun fact: I own 2 sets of basset salt and pepper shakers. Please contain your shock. I know this is hard to believe.

49/365: Coffee break. Also, roses are looking sad. Or, they really want some coffee. Probably the latter.
50/365: Received a thoughtful gift in the mail! Have I mentioned I love the Detroit Red Wings? Because I do.
51/365: Adventures in Slow Cooker (GF) Stuffed Peppers! YUM!
52/365: More coffee. More distractions.

Happy Friday, folks! Here's to a relaxing weekend. Full of studying. At least there's coffee.  :)

Also, do any of you have formatting problems with Blogger? I find myself having a hell of a time deleting big gaps between photos and text, text randomly switching from left to center, un-linked to linked, etc. It's such a hassle!

Relaxing Weekend

39/365: Friday was a day full of reminders of my love. Those days are the best. It started with a morning coffee in this mug. I received it from Adam right before he proposed to me. Random, but beautiful. I love it so much.

Then, this song came on Pandora while I was working. This is the song Adam used to tell me how he felt about me ( over 5 years ago!).

40/365: Saturday, we took a small trip back to our hometown to see family. I'm pretty sure I could have made it on to People of Walmart during our morning outing.
And, for some reason I ended up at Walmart multiple times that day. Which is horrible because I had ceased going to Walmart a few months ago. Hmmm. Well, at least we didn't actually make any purchases. Just played with some toys. And, again.

Then, later that night I had my first experience playing Risk. Have you ever played? I'm finding out I have a secret love of strategy games. I'm not very good at them yet (I'm team Yellow), but I really, really enjoy them.
41/365: Sunday was a great day of catching up with family and friends. I was finally able to give (and receive) a Christmas present to my nephew. He seriously lights up my life. What a sweetheart.
Then, we headed back home to Louisville. :)

42/365: Today has been calm. I worked a short shift and read some tough material for class. I'm still working on managing my time better. I'm sure it has nothing to do with this cutie.

What are your best tips for managing time? I've been trying to put the computer away as much as possible when studying. But, it's kind of difficult with online education. ;) I welcome any advice!

A Curious Little Furball, Coffee, and Sunshine

So, our cat, Gatsby, has been on one lately. He is crazy! He literally just leapt onto my desk and slid (Risky Business style) behind my computer as I typed this sentence. And, now he's drinking out of my water glass and smelling my sewing machine. What? What do you call this? Kitten, I guess? I haven't had a kitten since grade-school (Ruben was older when he found us), so I'm not familiar with all of these unusual (and hilarious) behaviors. Although, sometimes it's not so funny. Like when he bit my nose or scratched my cheek. Perhaps I got my face too close to his, but whatever. Not important. Ahhh. I just can't resist that bewitching face. And his snipped ear. So oddly adorable.
36/365:
But, he does some of the weirdest things. Like this:
Doesn't he look like a little alien-child? With those long legs? Why do I find this irresistible??

Maybe because of moments like this. Yes, he is choking Ruben. He's so mean to Ruben. But, look at that angelic face. Awww.

37/365: Lately, I have been working on homework non-stop. I have a love-hate relationship with homework. I absolutely love what I am learning. I don't remember a time I felt this engaged in school (and with online classes, no less!). However, I hate how much time I spend doing homework. And, sadly, I'm pretty certain it's my fault. I guess I never really learned how to properly take notes. So, I've been writing everything down. Like, everything. It's ridiculous. I am trying to work on it, but I've convinced myself that if it isn't written down I won't remember it. So, because of this, I've been drinking a lot of coffee.
So much, in fact, that I have officially reached "One of the Family" status at Heine Bros. Which is appropriate because I feel like I live there.

38/365: Today, was a happy one.

I completed a lot of homework, my kitchen is clean (thank you, Hubs), and it was absolutely gorgeous outside.
So, Charlie and I went for a walk! Walking Charlie is one of my favorite things. Ever.

What do you like to do when it gets warm(er) outside?

Lately

Just some recent happenings...

29/365: We made one of our new favorites (again): GF Taco Salad. So. Good.

30/365: I discovered things that I thought to be impossible (but didn't purchase just quite yet).

31/356: Watched some cuties sleep the day away.
32/365: Tried to study, but welcomed adorable interruptions.

33/365: Succumbed to adorable interruptions.
34/365: Saved a cute little skink from freezing temps (and found him a home other than ours, thank goodness!).

35/365: Received a very thoughtful gift along with a heartfelt letter (my favorite!!), which was a welcome break in my days of studying.

I hope to come out from under this school-work rock soon. Happy to say I am enjoying it, though!
